All of these people have something rather special in common… they all feature in the Letchworth Book of Pioneers 1903-1908. This autograph book was signed during a gathering in 1934.

To have your signature in this book meant that you had moved to or were born in Letchworth Garden City after it was founded in 1903, by Ebenezer Howard, and up until 1908. They were known as pioneers, facing the muddy surrounding daily, and living with basic amenities as the town was established!
