Brief description
This appears to be a linotype of a line drawing on tracing paper and is entitled 'Design for the living room in a house having in addition to this room a small hall, kitchen, bedrooms and offices' and is plate 31 in 'The Art of Building a Home' by the architect Barry Parker. The illustration depicts an Arts and Crafts style living room. On the right of the image is the traditional ingle with open hearth fire and fireplace, with fixed wooden seating set to both sides of the fire. To the far left are set two small leaded windows and next to this is an open frame door way which leads out onto a main door way in to the house grounds. Many more interior design drawings by Barry Parker are in the collection.
