Brief description
A newspaper cutting taken from the Comet dated Thursday 10.07.1975 A 140 megawatt gas turbine station for Central Electricity Generating Board is being carried out by Henry Boot Construction Ltd. of Sheffield at a cost of nearly £2 million. It is being built on Works Road, Letchworth. The new power station, suitably covered with bricks and cladding to blend in with the area, will also have a control centre, amenity block, fire protection plant, fuel oil pump houses and a main control room.The newspaper cutting also contains a press photo of the excavation work being carried out. The paper cutting has yellowed with age and is mounted on yellow card.
