Elizabeth Harriett Revell came to Letchworth from London in 1904 and made 1 Alpha Cottage, on Baldock Road, her new home, the first completed in the new Garden City! She helped other early residents find their place in Letchworth by offering her home to board newcomers, whilst their homes were finished. In 1934 Revell was recognised as ‘Letchworth’s No. 1 Resident’ and presented with a sash and flowers by fellow Letchworth pioneers.
