Brief description
Photograph of members of Irvin Air Chute's Caterpillar Club. The Caterpillar Club, started in 1922, was Irvin's club for all those whose lives had been saved by their parachutes. At the outbreak of war in 1939 there were 4,000 Caterpillar Club members. By the end of the war there were over 23,000.
