Brief description
Copy negative of Garden City Co-operators Ltd. Horse-drawn cart with Mr W Westall. William Westall and his family came to Letchworth Garden City soon after it was created. He lived in Common View and in the 1930’s he started his own grocery round with a horse and very distinctive yellow cart, stabled in what is now Daisy Close. He continued with this throughout the war years and until 1948. He lived at 35 Common View until his death in 1973 aged 103. One of his daughters (Muriel) was a department manageress at the local Co-op for many years.
